I'm looking for a chauffeur driven car for my family. Most driving in tier 2 city traffic with occasional highway trips. Easy ingress/egress is needed for parents. Budget 20 lacs. I'll be driving the cars on highways so something a little exciting would be preferable.

Currently, I’ve been driving a Honda Jazz CVT Petrol for the past 7 years. The car has been absolutely fine, and I still enjoy the drive. However, I’m now looking to upgrade to an SUV. My mandatory requirements are ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and a petrol automatic. My usage is mostly highway runs, with some weekend city driving, and my yearly running is around 10,000 km. Budget is up to 23 lakhs. I had shortlisted the Hyundai Alcazar 7-Seater Signature DCT (we are a family of 3, but extended family visits occasionally, so exploring the 7-seater option). However, with the current E20 fuel and upcoming E27/E30 norms, I’m confused whether to buy now or wait for a few months. Would appreciate suggestions on good options.

Pick the Hyundai Creta 1.5 turbo DCT SX(O). It gives you Level 2 ADAS features, a big panoramic sunroof and feels nice to drive on long highway runs. It will likely sit closer to your Rs. 23 lakh cap than the Alcazar, which usually crosses it. If you truly need the third row a few times a year, the Alcazar DCT also works well, and it gets all the features you're looking for, but the last row is best reserved for short durations.About fuel, don’t overthink it. Hyundai’s current 1.5 turbo petrol is E20-ready and runs fine on today’s fuel. E27 or E30 is not around the corner yet, and buying now will not put you at a disadvantage in a few months.

Go for the Brezza, but wait for the new model as it's just a few weeks away. The Brezza is easy to drive in traffic, rides well over broken roads and speed breakers, and the automatic is smooth and stress-free. The cabin is airy, the visibility is good, and Maruti service reach in the city makes ownership simple. For the odd Pune or Panchgani run, it feels stable enough if driven in a relaxed manner. A point to consider if you often go up the ghats with four people and luggage: the 1.5 petrol is smooth but not very strong, so overtakes need a little planning.If that bothers you, the Skoda Kylaq with the automatic is the better alternative. It feels quicker in the hills and in gaps, and the gearbox responds a bit faster, which helps both on the ghats and in stop-go Mumbai traffic. You will trade a slightly firmer ride and a lower city mileage for that extra shove.For mostly city use, though, buying the Brezza is the sensible call.

The Punch Empowered S40 is a solid value proposition, but it is a smaller car and does not feel as premium or as spacious as the Windsor. The only real drawback with the Windsor is that MG's service network is not as extensive as Tata's, but it is still a well-supported product in most major cities.
