I have been riding a KTM Adventure 250 for the past 5 years and now want to experience a sportier motorcycle. My usage is mostly city commuting for work and leisure. I enjoy trying different bike genres over the years and like KTM’s design and performance. I am particularly interested in the Duke series. KTM is known for power, stability, and aerodynamics. For 90-95% city commuting, which displacement between 125 cc and 250 cc would be ideal, while also being quick and easy to maintain?

Since you have already used a 250 Adventure and are leaning toward getting a KTM naked bike for city use, the 250 Duke makes for a great option. The latest-gen model has a punchy engine that's easy to live with, a great chassis and is loaded with features like a colour TFT display and bidirectional quickshifter. The only reason not to get one would be its compact size, which will be a factor to consider if you are a larger rider, because you will feel quite cramped on the bike.

If you don't fit on the 250 Duke, you can switch over to the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 because both are essentially the same bike draped in different bodywork. A test ride will help you decide which bike suits you better.

Has Husqvarna stopped manufacturing the Vitpilen 250, as all the dealers in Ranchi have informed me that Vitpilen 250 has been discontinued. However, the company's customer support team says otherwise.

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is still very much on sale in India. What you are likely experiencing is a local availability issue in Ranchi rather than a nationwide discontinuation. Husqvarna models are usually experience with much lower demand in comparison to their KTM brethren, so it is not uncommon for certain models to be unavailable in specific cities or dealerships for extended periods. This can sometimes lead dealers to incorrectly state that a model has been discontinued when, in reality, it is simply not being stocked locally. If you are keen on the Vitpilen 250, it is worth checking with dealerships in neighbouring cities or, as this Husqvarna bike should still be available through the official KTM/Husqvarna network.

I would like to know if it is normal for a fully charged, unused Ather 450 X to lose 1-3 km of indicated range without being ridden.

Do not worry, it is completely normal to see a 1-3 km drop in the displayed range on your Ather 450 X after a full charge, even if the scooter has not been ridden. This is not a sign of battery degradation or a fault. What you are seeing is a combination of two things: battery self-discharge and the way the range estimator works. All lithium-ion batteries lose a tiny amount of charge when parked overnight or for a few days, even when the scooter has not been in use. More importantly, the range estimate is not a fixed number - it is a calculation based on the current state of charge and your recent riding patterns. Even a small change in battery percentage can cause the displayed range to drop by a few kilometres.

After owning and loving my Yamaha MT-15 for the past 7 years, I'm finally looking for my next motorcycle, one I'll hopefully keep for the next 10+ years. I've test-ridden the new Duke, Speed 400, and Triumph Tracker 400. Duke: Absolutely loved its chassis, handling, braking, and confidence, but the aggressive styling and character aren't really my taste. Speed 400: Silky smooth, refined, and comfortable, but it didn't excite me enough. Tracker 400: My favourite among the Triumphs. I loved how naturally it leaned with my body and how confidently it absorbed bad roads. I just wished it had a bit more power and an even smoother drivetrain. These rides made me realise I'm looking for an enthusiast motorcycle, not just a comfortable commuter. Budget: Less than Rs 5 lakh (slightly stretchable). Could you please suggest the best bike to upgrade to for me?

Since you found the KTM 39O Duke too aggressive and the 350cc Triumph Speed / Tracker models a little bland, a good alternative to these is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. I'm planning to buy a two-wheeler for my father, preferably a scooter. My budget is around Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1 lakh. It will be used mainly for city commuting, with a maximum daily running of 20-25 km. Should I go for an ICE scooter or an EV? Also, which model would you recommend?

These have enough range for a 25km daily loop and will surely help reduce your running costs to a great extent. If you have a secure charging location, then opting for an EV definitely makes sense. Hi, I would like your suggestion on a good bike for my needs. I am 40 years old, 5'9" tall, weigh 115 kg, and have a family. My daily commute is 72 km. The road conditions are around 6 out of 10, considering potholes and speed breakers. Traffic is above average; if I were to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is the least and 10 is the highest, I would rate it 7. I am open to both ICE and electric bikes.
