Isuzu Motors has been announced as the title sponsor for the fifth edition of the Rainforest Challenge India, which is set to be held in Goa from July 21-28, 2018. This marks the first time, since its inception in 2014, that the event won’t be sponsored by Force Motors, having run under the ‘Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge’ moniker for the last four editions.
Commenting on the association, Ken Takashima, deputy managing director, Isuzu Motors India said, “We are happy to be associated with this edition of RFC India, as we see a right fit in terms of promoting the spirit of adventure in India. I wish the RFC India team and the participants the best.”
A total of 41 participants from across the country – including an all-women’s team – are slated to participate in this year’s event. Each team, comprising a driver and co-driver, will make their way through 26 special stages, and the team with the maximum number of points at the end of the event will win USD 10,000 (Rs 6.88 lakh) along with an automatic free entry into the main Rainforest Challenge that will be held in Malaysia at the end of the year.
“Our association with Isuzu Motors India started a couple of years ago with the India 4X4 Week, where they not only participated as an exhibitor but also sponsored some of the sessions. I am happy to renew our association with them and have them as the Title Sponsor for RFC India 2018,” said Ashish Gupta, founder and director, Cougar Motorsport, the organiser of the Rainforest Challenge India.
