In its second consecutive year, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), participated in Asia Dream Cup which ran as a support race on the FIM Asian GP weekend. The series, which consists of six rounds in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Japan and Qatar, sees 18 riders from 9 countries taking part.
The crowds had two home riders to cheer on as well, with Sumit Lucas and Prabhu Arunagiri being sponsored by HMSI for the 2013 season.
The Asia Dream Cup was an initiative of Honda Japan to promote riders and develop riding skills, using the CBR 250R. MotoGP race winner Makoto Tamada and Moto2 rider Tomoyoshi Koyama were on the grid as well.
Japanese rider Hiroki Ono made a clean sweep with a win in both races, and currently leads the points table with 145 points, with Malaysian Ashraf Razali a distant second with 82 points followed by Indonesian rider Gerry Salim in third with 81 points.
Out of the two Indian entries, Sumit Lucas currently lies 11th while Prabhu Arunagiri is further down in 18th in the overall standings.
