If the pre-facelift Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 DSG falls within your budget, this is certainly the one to go for. The 1.5 TSI and DSG combination works brilliantly, feels best on the open road, and will feel effortless during your drives to the mountains. Given that you're upgrading from a Polo, this Volkswagen car feels like the most natural option for you. Do keep in mind that with the pre-facelift, you miss the upgraded aircon, which is available on the facelift as well as the updated Kushaq. The Citroen Aircross X AT is an excellent car with a strong AC, excellent 1.2 turbo AT combination, and fantastic driving dynamics. But given Citroen's limited service network, it isn't a car we can recommend easily.

I’m planning to buy my first car and would appreciate some suggestions. My budget is around Rs. 13-15 lakh ex-showroom, and I’m planning to register the car under the BH series. Safety is my top priority, so I strongly prefer a car with a 5-star safety rating, preferably from Global NCAP. An automatic transmission is a must. The car will mainly be used for weekend family trips and highway drives rather than daily commuting. Since it will be a family car, I’d prefer something that looks classy and elegant while offering good comfort. A premium-looking interior would be a plus, and features such as leather/leatherette upholstery and ventilated seats would be nice to have, but they aren't deal-breakers. At the same time, I don’t want a car that is purely comfort-oriented. I enjoy driving, so I’d like something with a good engine, enjoyable handling, and a fun-to-drive character. Good rear-seat comfort and reasonable luggage space for family trips would also be appreciated.

The interior feels premium, and while it may not be the largest in its segment, overall comfort is quite good. If you prefer the look of the VW Taigun, it offers largely the same experience as the Kushaq. The Renault Duster 1.3 DCT is also a strong alternative, offering excellent driving dynamics and a larger cabin. Overall, though, the Kushaq 1.0 TSI automatic is the car that best aligns with your requirements.

It offers the most comfortable rear seat in the segment, with excellent legroom and a well-cushioned bench that makes this Honda car ideal for chauffeur-driven city use. The ride quality is also very well judged, with the suspension absorbing potholes and speed breakers without the car feeling bouncy or unsettled. Honda’s reputation for reliability and relatively low maintenance costs further strengthens its case, and the City’s petrol engine is efficient enough for your predominantly city driving.The Hyundai Verna 1.5 MPI would be the second choice. It offers a comfortable ride and a premium cabin experience, but the rear seat is not as spacious or as comfortable as the City’s, which is a key consideration for your usage. And while the mileage is good, it's not quite as good as the City's. The Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus are both good cars, but their ride quality is firmer, and they are not as well suited to chauffeur-driven city use.Overall, the Honda City is the best fit for your requirements and budget.
