In a bid to attract car buyers ahead of the upcoming festive season, VW has launched its Polo hatchback with additional features at a starting price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The car has been made available at Volkswagen showrooms across the country from September 1, 2015.

While the top-spec Polo Highline gets features such as cruise control, cooled glove box and electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators, the lower-spec Comfortline and Trendline trims only receive turn indicators incorporated on the wing mirrors.

The above features will be made available across all engine variants such as the 1.2-litre MPI, 1.2-litre GT TSI, 1.5-litre TDI and the 1.5-litre GT TDI. Moreover, the carmaker said that the extra equipment will also be fitted on both petrol and diesel variants of the Cross Polo.

“With the new Polo, we have enhanced the driving comfort for our customers. We are confident that the introduction of new features in Polo in this festive season will appeal to discerning car buyers across the country…,” Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen Group sales India said.

No changes, however, have been made to the powertrain on either the Polo or the Cross Polo and they both continue to use the same engines as before.
