Nissan is currently testing a new paint technology that could repel rain, mud and dirt. The special paint has already been applied to a Nissan Note prototype and the carmaker says it will start testing it to check the paint's real-world effectiveness.
The carmaker calls the paint 'Ultra-Ever Dry' and according to it, the paint creates a layer of air between the atmosphere and itself, 'effectively stopping road spray and standing water from dirtying the car's surface'.
The special paint could eventually be offered as an aftermarket upgrade.
