Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition of its Swift hatchback. Called the DLX edition, this package is only available on the Swift’s base LXi and LDi variants. While the standard cars are priced at Rs 4.54 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 5.95 lakh for the diesel variant, the DLX package is on offer for an additional Rs 20,000.

In terms of cosmetics, the Swift DLX edition sports fog lamps and a blacked-out B-pillar. Added features include a Sony music system with Bluetooth and USB compatibility and front door speakers, power windows for all doors, smart warning indicators, engine immobiliser and child safety lock.

There are no mechanical changes and the 84.15hp 1.2-litre petrol and 75hp 1.3-litre diesel engines continue doing duty under the hood.

The introduction of the special edition Swift DLX could be in response to the drop in sales of the Swift in recent months. The next-gen Swift is expected to be launched in India only late next year.
