Hyundai will soon launch a mildly revised i10. The car will feature restyled headlights, a new chin and fresh taillights too. All i10 models will have their styling overhauled to take styling cues from the new ix35 crossover, including that car’s front headlight and front grille design. There will also be interior changes, although these will be less substantial than the exterior styling tweaks.
Also part of the upgrade will be an upgrade to the motor, which will now feature variable valve timing, a first for a car in this segment. Known as VTVT, it works on a similar principle as that of the Verna motor and promises to make the Kappa even more powerful. Needless to say, the i20, which uses a version of this motor, will also be upgraded in the future. The 1.1-litre engine will continue to be on sale in India however and will be offered in the base variant on the i10.
Spy shots of mildly disguised i10s, sent by many of our alert readers, give you some idea of how the car will look. Full details and official pictures will follow soon. Watch this space.
