Hyundai Creta pre-bookings cross 10,000 mark

With a few days still to go for the launch, Hyundai Motor India Limited has already received 28,500 customer enquiries and 10,000 pre-bookings for the Hyundai Creta. Bookings for the SUV opened on June 20,2015, and at amounts ranging between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000, depending on the region.

Hyundai's SUV that will be launched on July 21, 2015, is expected to come with a wide range of powertrains, such as the refined 1.6-litre diesel engine making 126bhp and 26.5kgm of torque.  The manufacturer will  also offer the option of the 1.6 petrol and a 1.4 diesel motors from the current Verna. The 1.6 diesel will get a six-speed manual gearbox with the option of a six-speed automatic as well, while the other two engines will be paired to five-speed manual gearboxes.

Hyundai will offer the new Creta in six trims – Base, S , S+, SX, SX+ and SX(O). The 1.6 petrol will power the Base, S, SX and SX+ models, the 1.4 diesel will be come in Base, S and S+ variants, and the 1.6 diesel will be available in SX, SX+ and the SX(O) trims. The option of an automatic gearbox is offered only on the 1.6 diesel SX+ trim.

The Hyundai Creta will rival the Renault Duster, the Nissan Terrano, the upcoming Maruti S-Cross and the Mahindra Scorpio.
