BMW’s current-gen X1 has received another cosmetic update. Now available in only the M Sport trim, the entry-level SUV gets subtle exterior and interior upgrades such as unique front and rear bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped M steering wheel and other minor interior add-ons.
Mechanically, the X1 continues to solider on with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 181.4bhp and 38.74kgm of torque. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Priced at Rs 37.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane), the X1 M Sport is available in two paint shades, Alpine White and Le Mans Blue.
The current-gen X1 has been on sale in India since 2011 and it received a mid-cycle update in 2013. This M Sport trim could be BMW India’s final update on the X1 before it gets replaced by an all-new model likely to hit Indian showrooms next year. The M Sport line-up in India features the 530d M Sport and the X3 M Sport as well.
Besides the introduction of the X1 M Sport, BMW has also just launched the 1-series facelift in India.
