Having long teased its second SUV, Tesla has finally confirmed that it will reveal the Model Y at its design studio in Los Angeles on March 14, 2019.

Set to share its underpinnings with the Model 3, Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a tweet said that the SUV would be 10 percent bigger than its aforementioned sibling and be priced at a similar premium but will have a range lower than that of the sedan.

Tesla had confirmed the development of the Model Y back in 2016 before releasing its first teaser in 2017, which showed the silhouette of the SUV’s front fascia and some styling bits such as the lack of conventional wing mirrors.

Details trickling in over time has suggested that the SUV is set to be offered with more advanced technologies than the Model 3 and have a more sophisticated brain than current Tesla models to advance the brand’s autonomous driving technology.

The brand, however, has remained tight-lipped on the specifications of its new SUV which will sit below the Model X.

Expect more details to be revealed in the coming days.
