Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition: What’s new?
Gets ‘GP Inspired’ branding on the exterior and interior
The Cooper S GP Inspired Edition sports a ‘Legend Grey’ paint job, with the roof and mirror caps finished in ‘Chilli Red’, a shade used across the car for a sharp contrast. The front end features a JCW-spec bumper and grille with a John Cooper Works emblem. The GP Inspired Edition adds red JCW-branded winglets on the sides of the bumper, a red tow strap and a red-and-grey stripe on the bonnet.
The sides have the same red-and-grey stripe as the bonnet but with ‘GP Inspired’ lettering. Bringing a touch of exclusivity is a ‘1 of 30’ branding on the C-pillar. Adding to its distinction are JCW-spec 18-inch alloy wheels with red centre caps, alongside a JCW-spec roof-mounted wing, winglets on the sides and rear and a rear diffuser. Three modes for the daytime running lamps (DRLs) and the LED tail-lamps bring unique welcome/goodbye animations.
The GP Inspired Edition’s cabin borrows elements from the JCW Pack trim. These include a dashboard with a black theme and red accents, a JCW-spec steering wheel, as well as recycled, knitted fabric lining for the dashboard and door panels. The JCW Sport Seats are finished in ‘Vescin Black’, with contrast red stitching and elements, and the door sills feature ‘GP Inspired’ branding. Exclusivity extends to the floor mats, too, with the ‘1 of 30’ mention.
Features include a 9.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass roof, a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon sound system, a powered driver’s seat with memory, a head-up display, connected car tech, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger and over-the-air (OTA) updates. The safety kit comprises Level 1 ADAS, a rearview camera and stability control, among other equipment and tech.
