Mini has launched the Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition at Rs 62.90 lakh, ex-showroom, in India. Compared to the standard Cooper Convertible, which cost Rs 59 lakh, the Stardust Edition carries a premium of Rs 3.9 lakh. It's costlier than the Rs 61.50 lakh-JCW Pack version by Rs 1.4 lakh.

The Stardust Edition brings along a Sparkling Copper Grey exterior shade, while the ORVM caps are finished in Vibrant Silver. Aerodynamically optimised 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke alloy wheels stand out, and they are also finished in Vibrant Silver. As for the soft top, it gets the Union Jack graphic. The electrically folding soft top can be fully opened in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30ph, and it takes 15 seconds to close. When the top is open, the Stardust Edition has a luggage storing capacity of 160 litres. When closed, it expands to 215 litres.

On the inside, the Stardust Edition gets the same list of features as the standard convertible. A 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen, running on the Mini OS 9, is the cabin's centrepiece. Other features on offer include a head-up display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, Harman Kardon surround sound system, wireless charger, rear-view camera, heated steering wheel, automatic climate control and more.

Safety suite includes Level 1 ADAS, ABS, dynamic stability control, 3-point seatbelts for all four seats and a tyre pressure monitor.

No changes have been made under the hood, and the Stardust Edition carries over the standard Cooper Convertible's 204hp, 300Nm 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mini claims a mileage of 16.82kpl for the Stardust Edition, which is marginally higher than the Cooper Convertible's 16.39kpl figure. It does the 0-100kph sprint in 6.9 seconds, maxing out at 240kph.
