ICE

Both the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio continue to use the brand’s 3-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine, and depending on the variant, it develops 490hp (Modena) or 590hp (Trofeo). Notably, peak power output has gone up by 40hp in the top-spec Trofeo, thanks to an increase in turbo boost pressure with some minor modifications. Their respective 8-speed automatic gearboxes have been recalibrated for greater responsiveness.

EV

The electric-only Folgore versions of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio retain their 92.5kWh battery, along with a trio of motors – two at the back and one at the front. While the combined output remains 761hp for both, Maserati engineers have been able to increase the claimed range by 90km to 540km. This was achieved by adding a system that disconnects the front motor when not required, thereby reducing energy consumption. The GranTurismo Folgore reaches a top speed of 325kph, while the GranCabrio Folgore maxes out at 290kph.

All versions are equipped with all-wheel drive and air suspension as standard. Maserati has also given the two models a new ‘Country’ drive mode for use on rougher road surfaces, which raises the ride height by 25mm at speeds of up to 120kph.

The revised front end has reshaped air intakes along with a central splitter, which Maserati says is designed to increase front downforce. At the rear, the lights now get clear lenses.

Through the Officine Fuoriserie personalisation programme, buyers can even choose from seven new paint options: Green Jupiter Matte, Blu Denim, Bronzo Lucido, Bronzo Matte, Grigio Mistero, Rosso Velluto and Oro Lirico. The range also includes new colours for the badges and exhaust tips. Save for a different design for the wheels, a convertible roof and the absence of rear exhaust tips, not a lot separates the EV version from its ICE counterpart.

Inside, a new racing-inspired steering wheel stands out. It has flat upper and lower sections, dark satin aluminium spokes and is available with perforated leather. The digital clock has also been redesigned, with a metal bezel, octagonal shape, new graphics and a pop-up function for mode changes. The drive selector gets metal-finished controls, while the steering-wheel paddles now include a parking function. The cabin also gets a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch HVAC display, a 12.2-inch instrument cluster and a head-up display. There is also a new monitoring system that detects driver distraction and fatigue.

2026 Maserati GranTurismo, GranCabrio: India launch

When asked by Autocar India about the launch timeline for the updated models, Maserati said it is currently focusing on strengthening its presence in the country through an expanded dealer network. The brand is currently in discussions with local investors to grow its retail footprint. On June 12, Maserati announced that Navnit Motors will begin retail operations in Mumbai, adding to its existing dealerships in Delhi and Bengaluru. Alongside the GranTurismo and GranCabrio, Maserati sells the Grecale SUV and the MCPura supercar in India.

At the same time, Maserati is awaiting greater clarity on the India-EU free trade agreement (FTA) that aims to drastically lower import duties on cars. In anticipation of the FTA rollout, brands such as Ferrari have started accepting orders at prices that are around 30 percent lower.
