Land Rover has launched the locally assembled Range Rover Sport Autobiography in India, priced from Rs 1.6 crore (ex-showroom), with bookings now open. This is the first time the Autobiography trim is offered on the locally manufactured Range Rover Sport in India. It is powered by a 3.0-litre engine, available in petrol and diesel options, while the 4.4-litre V8 Range Rover Sport Autobiography continues as a CBU.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography: engine options

The Sport Autobiography is offered with two 3.0-litre engines in locally assembled form, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The D350 diesel produces 351hp and 700Nm, with a claimed 0-100kph time of 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 234kph. The P400 petrol produces 400hp and 550Nm, with a claimed 0-100kph time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 242kph. Power outputs are identical to those of the Dynamic HSE petrol and diesel variants.

The fully imported version of the Range Rover Sport Autobiography continues to be offered with a 4.4-litre V8 engine, which produces 530hp and 750Nm, with a claimed 0-100kph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 250kph.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography: exterior

The Autobiography trim adds subtle but distinct detailing over the standard Range Rover Sport. Key highlights include 22-inch forged alloy wheels with a satin black finish, red brake calipers and Autobiography badging. It also features a Dynamic Exterior Pack, and soft-close doors.

Other exterior elements include flush door handles, a powered gesture tailgate, laminated glass, and heated, power-folding mirrors with memory and auto-dimming functions. The SUV is offered in two new colours – Borasco Grey and Ostuni Pearl White – along with Santorini Black and Carpathian Grey.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography: interior

The Autobiography trim gets a full extended leather interior with semi-aniline upholstery, along with SV Bespoke carpet mats and illuminated metal treadplates with Autobiography branding.

It comes with 22-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, along with heated and ventilated reclining rear seats. Other features include four-zone climate control, cabin air purification, configurable ambient lighting and a front centre console refrigerator.

It gets a 13.7-inch digital driver display, paired with a 13.1-inch infotainment system. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is complemented by a Meridian Signature sound system, wireless charging, voice control and rear seat entertainment screens. Additional features include a head-up display, and rear window sunblinds.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography: chassis and dynamics

The Autobiography trim gets a range of chassis systems aimed at improving handling and stability. These include all-wheel steering and an electronic active differential with torque vectoring by braking. It also features dynamic air suspension with Dynamic Response Pro and adaptive damping. Terrain Response Programs allow the SUV to adjust to different driving conditions. Additional systems include adaptive off-road cruise control, hill descent control and multiple traction and stability control functions.
