BMW has launched the all-new third-generation X6 in India at Rs 95 lakh. The SUV-coupe comes with a single engine-gearbox combination (40i) and in two trim levels to choose from. Prices for both, the xLine and M Sport, variants of the new X6 are Rs 95 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

What engine does it get?

Powering the new X6 is a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that puts out 340hp and 450Nm of torque. Power is sent to all-four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox and BMW’s xDrive four-wheel drive system.

The new X6 measures 4,935mm in length, which makes it 26mm longer than the previous X6; it is also 15mm wider, at 2,004mm. The wheelbase is set at 2,975mm while the height of the new SUV-coupe is 1,696mm. Boot capacity is 580 litres (65 litres less than the X5), which increases to 1,530 litres with the 40/20/20 rear seats folded.

What are the features?

The new BMW X6 is offered in two trim levels - xLine and M Sport. The former comes with black cladding on the front and rear fenders and sports more chrome elements while the latter gets gloss back bits replacing the chrome ones, with the front apron, side skirts and wheel arch trims finished in body colour. The M Sport variant also gets M Sport brakes with blue calipers, adaptive M suspension, a M Sport exhaust system with M Sport-specific tailpipes, M badging on the fenders, illuminated M door sills, M leather steering wheel, rear apron with a diffuser insert and M-specific pedals and car key.

Both trims, the xLine and M Sport, are loaded with equipment such as Laser LED headlights with LED DRLs, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with BMW’s latest iDrive system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, full-leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heads-up display, a tyre pressure monitoring system and multiple drive modes.

Standard safety kit includes 8 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control and front and rear parking sensors.

Buyers can customise the X6 as per their liking, with a wide range of exterior colours, interior upholstery, trims, alloy wheels and optional extras on offer.
