Yezdi is a legendary Indian motorcycle brand with roots going back to the 1960s. The Mahindra Group revived the brand in January 2022, bringing back the name with a range of modern motorcycles. The current Yezdi bikes carry the legacy of the original Ideal Jawa motorcycles, known for their distinctive exhaust note and strong following among enthusiasts. The current range consists of three motorcycles, all powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled petrol engine and positioned in the mid-capacity segment.

Yezdi Bikes: Design and Styling

Yezdi motorcycles combine classic styling with modern design elements. The range features details such as round lighting elements, sculpted fuel tanks and blacked-out mechanical parts, giving the bikes a distinct retro look. Each motorcycle has its own styling based on its purpose.

The Roadster has a classic roadster design with a low-slung stance, while the Scrambler gets a more rugged appearance suited to its dual-purpose nature. The Adventure has a taller stance and adventure-focused design aimed at long-distance touring and off-road riding.

Yezdi Bikes: Engine and Performance

All three Yezdi motorcycles use a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder petrol engine. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and has a performance-focused character compared with some of the more relaxed modern-classic motorcycles.

The engine delivers its power in a way that suits riders who enjoy revving the motorcycle. The updated version produces up to 30 PS of power and 30 Nm of torque, depending on the model. This gives the Yezdi range enough performance for both city riding and highway use.

Yezdi motorcycles combine their retro design with modern features. Depending on the model, the range gets equipment such as digital instrument displays, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, dual-channel ABS, riding modes, traction control and a slipper clutch.

The Adventure gets more touring and off-road-focused equipment, including features designed to make riding on different surfaces easier. Some versions are also available with tubeless spoke wheels, which combine the traditional look of spoke wheels with the convenience of tubeless tyres.
