Ducati DesertX
DesertX is Ducati's first genuinely serious modern off-road ADV, with a setup that gives it greater ability to tackle rough terrain than a typical road-oriented ADV. It stands out with its tall, rally-inspired stance and 21-inch front wheel, a combination that not only gives the bike a distinctive appearance but also helps it roll over stones, ruts and other obstacles more easily. The DesertX is powered by a 937cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 110hp and 92Nm, giving it enough performance for quick highway riding while also providing strong drive on loose surfaces.
It also gets a large 21-litre fuel tank, but unlike many ADVs, the tank feels relatively slim where the rider's knees meet it when standing on the footpegs, making it easier to move around the motorcycle. Its 250mm ground clearance and 230mm of front and 220mm of rear suspension travel give the DesertX enough room to clear obstacles and absorb large bumps when the going gets rough, while retaining the ability to cover long distances on the highway.

Ducati DesertX FAQs
The DesertX engine is tuned to deliver power in a smooth and linear manner rather than with an aggressive surge, making it more approachable for everyday riding. It may feel a little heavy while manoeuvring the handlebar at very low speeds and it also produces noticeable heat in slow-moving traffic.
The front tire pressure is 29.0 PSI and rear tire pressure must be 31.9 PSI for off-road riding while carrying a passenger.
Get the first service of DesertX done at 1,000km, followed by an oil service every 15,000km or 24 months. One major Desmo valve clearance check is done every 30,000 km.
Although the 937cc engine produces 110hp and 92Nm, its power delivery is relatively smooth rather than aggressive. Riders moving up from a much smaller motorcycle will still need some time to get used to its size, tall 865mm seat height and performance.
