Yamaha has launched its MT-25, a naked streetbike for the Indonesian motorcycle market inspired by the Yamaha YZF-R25. On the design front, the MT-25 gets a single halogen powered headlight up front with dual LED pilot lights just above the unit. A digi-analogue console also finds place way here, displaying the tachometer in analogue display. The flattish handlebar and control levers are all finished in steel. A stepped saddle makes way here, similar to sportier offerings in the segment. The bike gets a telescopic front fork set-up and a monoshock makes way at the rear for optimum handling manners.

The Yamaha MT-25 is powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine, which is also the same unit as on Yamaha’s fully faired YZF-R25 and is mounted on its chassis as a stressed member.

The bike produces 35bhp of power and 2.3kgm of peak torque. It has a 164.6kg kerb weight and is equipped with a 14-litre fuel tank. Yamaha also provides the MT-25 with stylish looking 10-spoke alloy wheels, finished in the same paint scheme as its chassis, lending a really sporty finish here. For braking duty, Yamaha provides the MT-25 with a single disc brake up front and one at the rear too.

If Yamaha should bring the motorcycle here, and price it well, the motorcycle has a bright future in the emerging 250cc motorcycle segment here in India.
