We’ve got our hands on the very first spy pictures of TVS’s upcoming automatic scooter being tested in Bengaluru. This latest TVS is clearly very near production ready, and is set to augment TVS’s successful existing automatic scooter fleet, the Scooty Pep and Wego, as it takes on the industry leader, Honda’s popular Activa.

This will be TVS’s first full-size scooter, as seen in visibly larger overall proportions as compared to its more petite stable mate, the Wego. All-black alloy wheels will be standard kit, as well as conservative styling cues shared with the Wego. The pictures show the new scooter uses a set of contemporary, flush-fitted turn signal indicators front and rear. The circular hole cut in the cloth concealing the new scooter just below the pillion seat is to allow a key to open the seat. Expect the new scooter to offer industry standard specifications and conveniences, including an electric starter, plus an ample features list to match the competition.

We expect TVS’s new scooter to share most of its mechanical components with the Wego, using a 110cc, four-stroke and force air-cooled engine, with a variator-controlled automatic transmission system. The new TVS scooter will seat riders in a comfortable, upright riding position on its long, lightly stepped saddle. Telescopic fork suspension will be used in front, with a single hydraulic shock absorber at rear, where the engine doubles up as a stressed member of the frame. TVS’s new scooter is equipped with drum brakes front and rear, while we also hope to see a disc brake variant as already available on the Wego. This new TVS scooter should enter the Indian market soon, within no more than a few months from now.
