Recent spy shots of the Honda CB Unicorn 160 reveal Honda has decided to stick to producing a traditional, more familiar and conservative looking motorcycle, in keeping with the trend followed by Honda over the past few years.
Patrons expecting a Yamaha FZ-S V2.0 or Suzuki Gixxer rival are sure to feel let down with the blander looking new Honda uncovered in the new images.
Honda is certain to make sure ergonomics, comfort and quality are given top priority on the new 160. A modern day commuter who wants the reliability of Honda technology will be happy here, but riders looking for bikes laden with sporty ergonomics and sharp handling are sure to tune out and switch over to other sportier Japanese motorcycles.
From the images seen, one can tell the naked commuter motorcycle has a fully digital instrument console, freshly designed fuel-tank, a disc brake up front and six-spoke alloy wheels. There's also a large saddle for comfort and prominent grab handle, along with fins incorporated on the new bike side panels, with the rear ‘saree’ guard styled with a twist. The new motorcycle’s tail-light has been given signature Honda styling as also seen on the Activa 125, only smaller on the motorcycle. The new bike is expected to run powered by a carburettor-fed engine and does not come with a rear disc brake. A box section steel construction swingarm is seen at rear.
Honda says its CB Unicorn 160 will be on Indian roads within the next couple of weeks.
