For the first time since entering the electric two-wheeler market over three years ago, Hero MotorCorp’s Vida brand has sold 1 lakh units in a calendar year. As per the latest retail sales numbers on the Vahan portal, between January 1 and December 5, a total of 1,00,383 Vida e-scooters were delivered to customers. Additionally, cumulative sales of Vida e-scooters have crossed 1.50 lakh units since the brand’s launch in October 2022.

Hero’s electric sales trajectory so far

Vida currently has 8 percent market share

While 2025 opened on a tepid note with 1,626 units in January, monthly sales crossed 6,000 units for four straight months between March and June. Then, sales crossed the 10,000-unit mark for the first time in July (10,548 units), and Vida maintained that momentum for five straight months.

With 16,017 units, Vida recorded its highest monthly sales in the domestic market in October 2025. This robust performance is also reflected in Vida’s ranking among the manufacturers: from No. 7 in January, it rose to the sixth spot in February and to No. 5 in March, a position it maintained until October, before wresting the fourth rank from Ola Electric last month.

VX2 has been a key growth driver for Vida owing to its lower purchase price with BaaS

The launch of the family-centric VX2 in July 2025 has delivered accelerated growth for Vida, which also has the sportier-looking V2 in its portfolio. The VX2 is fundamentally similar to the V2 in terms of its battery, motor and other mechanical components but has two main differences.

First, its styling is far more in line with the traditional family scooters on sale in India. Secondly – and more importantly – its purchase price, already quite competitive when bought outright, is downright disruptive when purchased via the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) route. This second point has been instrumental in Vida’s accelerated growth in the latter half of the year, helping it overtake a steadily declining Ola Electric in terms of monthly sales quite comfortably.
