The Kawasaki Ninja H2 will be getting a number of updates for 2019. Next year, the hyper sport motorcycle will get a new intake system, ECU, tyres, brakes and lot more. The biggest change, however, is in its power figure – a hike of 31hp! If that wasn’t enough, the bike will also receive a new “self-healing” paint-job.
The H2's new power output – 231hp, from its previous 200hp power figure – will be its most significant change for 2019. The bike maker has impressively increased the engine's power while keeping the outgoing model’s Euro-IV compliance and fuel efficiency ratings. Torque is also up by 8.2Nm, taking the superbike's total to 141.7Nm. The power gain is with the help of the same technology used to make the company’s new Ninja H2 SX. The 2019 H2 will get an updated air-filter, intake chamber, spark-plugs and ECU. That takes the bike significantly ahead of the bikes like the 214hp Ducati Panigale V4 (226hp with the Akrapovič exhaust option) – currently the most powerful road-legal production superbike on sale today.
The 2019 motorcycle will also come equipped with new Bridgestone-branded tyres and Brembo’s top-of-the-line Stylema callipers that first appeared on the Ducati Panigale V4. The H2 will also get a new TFT screen fitted with Bluetooth connectivity, this time around. The new screen will work with the company’s new ‘Rideoloy’ mobile application which shows vehicle information – like fuel level, battery condition, riding log, and service interval updates. The kerb weight for the motorcycle still stands at 238kg.
Lastly, the bike will also get a new “self-healing” paintjob. As the name suggests, we expect to work in a similar way self-healing paint protection films do – small scuffs and scratches will disappear with the application of little heat.
These changes will also make their way to the next iteration of the H2 Carbon as well.
Pricing details for the new machine haven’t been revealed, yet, but an increase over its current price point of Rs 33.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India) is fair to expect.
