Triumph is gearing up to reveal the upcoming Tiger Sport 660 – images of which were released in August – in its entirety on October 5.

  • Powered by a 660cc, three-cylinder engine

  • Uses 17-inch wheels at both ends

  • Expected to launch in India

Late last year, a leaked image from a dealer presentation revealed that the new Triumph Trident 660 would have two siblings – an adventure bike and an adventure sports tourer. Triumph has now announced that the latter will be revealed on October 5. The company hasn’t been shy when it comes to teasing this motorcycle and has released its images both with and without camouflage.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660: what we know so far

The aforementioned images have revealed that the bike gets a big fuel tank, substantial radiator shrouds, a sizable windscreen and sleek twin-LED headlamps. Visually, the Tiger Sport 660 appears to have the same 660cc three-cylinder engine from the Triumph Trident 660. This engine produces 81hp and has a smooth, linear power delivery that will be a nice fit in a motorcycle like the Tiger Sport 660.

While the black coloured Showa USD fork looks similar to the one on the Trident 660, it is quite likely that the Tiger Sport will have more suspension travel than the Trident. But it is not known if the suspension will be adjustable.

Triumph has opted to continue using 17-inch wheels at both ends wrapped in Michelin Road 5 rubber, hinting at this motorcycle’s preference for tarmac. The tubular steel frame appears to be the same, but the bike may get a new rear subframe and the swingarm also appears to be different than the Trident’s.
