Triumph gave us good news by retaining prices despite the rise in GST for 350+ cc bikes. Now, ahead of the festive season, they have dropped the prices.

Triumph Motorcycles has announced a price drop for the Speed 400 and Speed T4 models, even as the GST on motorcycles above 350cc has risen to 40 percent. This is a great move from Triumph and Bajaj Auto, who have chosen to absorb the increased burden and offer festive discounts to customers in India.

  1. Speed 400 and Speed T4 see a price cut of up to Rs 16,797
  2. Speed 400 now available at Rs 2,33,754 and the Speed T4 at Rs 1,92,539
  3. Prices slashed despite GST on 350+cc motorcycles rising to 40 percent
  4. Thruxton 400 and Scrambler 400 prices remain the same

The Speed 400 now costs Rs 2,33,754 (down from Rs 2,50,551) and the Speed T4 Rs 1,92,539 (Rs 2,06,738 earlier). At the time of launch in 2023, the Speed 400’s ex-showroom introductory price was Rs 2.23 lakh, making the current price just around Rs 10,000 more.

Triumph Motorcycles says that the Speed range has been the fastest-growing line in its portfolio, with monthly volumes nearly doubling since FY2024. So the drop in prices may provide a further boost.

Speaking on the announcement, Manik Nangia, president – Probiking at Bajaj Auto, said, “The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have set benchmarks in performance, design and accessibility. By absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are reaffirming their focus on the Indian market and its customers, ensuring the Speed range continues to deliver unmatched value. We have also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY2024, with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision, which is a clear reflection of the trust and aspiration customers associate with Triumph. We are confident of sustaining this momentum going forward.”
