Royal Enfield has introduced a rear disc brake on the base variant of the Classic 350. The first Classic 350 to feature a rear disc brake was the gun metal shade which was introduced last year. The base Classic 350 with rear disc brake has been priced at Rs 1,47,195 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
It must be noted that the twin-disc variant of the Classic 350 doesn’t come equipped with ABS – that feature is only available on the Signals variant which retains for Rs 1,61,984 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Rudratej Singh, president, Royal Enfield Motors Limited had recently shared with us the company’s plans to introduce dual-channel ABS across its range and the addition of a rear disc brake on the base Classic 350 is a step in the same direction.
Apart from the addition of a rear disc, no changes have been made to Royal Enfield’s most popular motorcycle. It’s powered by a 346cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 19.8hp and 28Nm of peak torque, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. RE is also gearing-up for the launch of the 650 twins expected to go on sale in India by late 2018.
