India Yamaha Motor is all set to facelift their YZF-R15, which will gain a trendy new YZF-R6 derived facade. As our artist's impression shows, the R15 upgrade shall add on sporty split seats, plus a redesigned tail and LED brake warning.

Fatter rubber, plus a new tyre hugger will be seen at the rear. Also expect swanky 10-spoke alloy wheels, a meaty silencer and repositioned rear number plate. We don’t expect much change within the R15’s proven liquid-cooled, 149.8cc single-cylinder engine which makes 17bhp at 8500rpm. Yamaha could bring down pricing on the new R15 by as much as Rs 10,000, but that’s not all.

The Japanese manufacturer is also hard at work developing a burly 250cc street bike based on the FZ-16. A rear disc brake will grace this four-stroke, single-cylinder engined motorcycle, expected to cost close to Rs 130,000, when launched in mid-2011.

A Yamaha scooter is also near ready, with little known, other than it being an exciting up-market offering, with premium pricing of close to Rs 60,000. Watch this space.
