Norton is perhaps the most iconic and revered of all the British motorcycle marques, and now its parent company TVS has trademarked the Norton Combat name in India.

Given the massive success of Royal Enfield, which the TVS Ronin has not been able to come close to, as well as the arrival of brands like Harley Davidson and Triumph in the sub-Rs 3 lakh space, it is possible that TVS might use the Norton name in India on a specially developed motorcycle to take another stab at the huge sub-500cc modern retro motorcycle market.

At the moment, TVS is focused on resurrecting the Norton name and clearing pending orders of its existing customers. The Hosur-based company has overhauled the entire Norton line-up, including the Commando 961 and the V4SV. It has also introduced the V4CR, essentially a cafe racer based on the 187.5hp superbike. Norton also has big plans in the EV space and to read more about that, click here.
