Ducati has issued two rounds of recall for the new Panigale V4 range in the US market. The affected bikes include the Ducati Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S, and Panigale V4 Speciale. Each recall of Ducati's flagship motorcycle is due to issues related to the motorcycle’s fuel system.
According to Ducati, the breathing system valve plug might leak fuel if the O-ring was damaged during the bike's production, leading to its first recall. The second recall has been issued owing to a faulty fuel tank cap that doesn’t close properly. Depending on temperature, quantity of fuel and some other factors, there’s a possibility of a pressure differential in the tank, which could result in fuel being sprayed out when the cap is opened.
A total of 692 units of the Ducati Panigale V4 range have been recalled in the United States and the faulty parts will be replaced (free of cost) by the dealers. As for the Indian market, there has been no recall issued for the bikes, since no units have been delivered yet. The first lot of the Panigale V4 will be delivered to Indian customers in July – and by then both these issues will be rectified.
Only 20 units of the Panigale V4 and the V4S were initially allotted for India and they were priced at Rs 20.53 lakh and Rs 25.29 lakh, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Last month, Ducati re-opened bookings for the Panigale V4 duo – and again, only 20 units have been made available.
