Since Bajaj launched its BS6 models, over the last couple of months, it has hiked prices for a number of them. Only the recently launched Bajaj Dominar 250 did not receive a higher price tag, but that has now changed. The Dominar 250 was launched in March, 2020 at Rs 1.60 lakh, and now, 6 months later, Bajaj has increased its price to Rs 1.64 lakh.

This hike of Rs 4,090 is the first that the Dominar 250 has received. Despite the notable increase, the baby Dominar continues to be a great value for money proposition. However, it does take its price tag closer to the Husqvarna twins, the Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250, which are priced at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Now, the Dominar 250 also costs just as much as its rival, the Gixxer 250, that is priced at Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

There are no cosmetic or mechanical updates following the hike. The Bajaj Dominar 250 borrows its 248.8cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine from the 250 Duke. However, given that the bike hasn’t been designed to be as performance oriented as the KTM 250 Duke, it makes less peak power and torque – 27hp at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm at 6,500rpm, compared to the 30hp and 24Nm of the KTM. Despite its more relaxed, touring-focused intentions, Bajaj hasn’t skimped on giving the bike features, and has included slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS.

All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi.
