BMW has unveiled the Adventure variant of the F 850 GS at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show. Spy images of the bike had surfaced back in May 2018 and they revealed quite a lot about the ADV motorcycle. The F 850 GS features reworked suspension, more crash protection and a larger fuel tank.

The 2019 BMW F 850 GS Adventure is a more off-road focused version of the regular bike. The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 23 litres from 15 litres, and it now has a claimed range of 550km. Other features include a bigger two-piece windscreen, auxiliary lights and reworked crash bars. BMW has also said that the rear subframe has been toughened to support increased luggage. This variant also comes equipped with a stainless-steel luggage rack. All of this, however, has taken the kerb weight up by 15kg to a total of 244kg.

To compensate for the additional weight, BMW has increased the suspension travel of this variant. Other new additions include wide, off-road, enduro foot pegs, adjustable gearshift and foot brake levers, making the Adventure more customisable to riders of different sizes.

This variant also comes equipped with a new LED headlight as standard. Dynamic ESA, BMW’s 6.5-inch TFT screen and emergency call function are all optional. The Adventure will be available three style options – base, Exclusive and Rallye. BMW will most likely launch this variant of the F 850 GS in India sometime next year.
