Follow usThe Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 was among the first bikes to debut the brand’s 648cc parallel-twin engine, and it remains one of the few cafe racer-style motorcycles on sale in India. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about it.
On the highway, the GT 650 returned 33.30kpl, while in urban areas it managed 26.40kpl. Considering it's equipped with a large-capacity, old-school, air/oil-cooled motor propelling a big motorcycle, these numbers seem fair enough. It also has a smaller 12.5-litre fuel tank compared to the Interceptor’s 13.7-litre unit.
The Continental GT 650 has a kerb weight of 214kg, which, though substantial, is still lighter than other Royal Enfield 650cc bikes that includes the Interceptor 650, Classic 650, Bear 650, Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650.
The Continental GT 650 offers a fairly approachable 794mm seat height, but its committed riding position and substantial kerb weight mean it’s best suited to riders with some prior experience.
The Continental GT 650 is offered with either alloy or spoke wheels, depending on the chosen colour variant. Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey come with alloys, while Rocker Red, British Racing Green, and Mr Clean are fitted with spoke wheels.
Prices for the Continental GT 650 vary from Rs 3.25 lakh to Rs 3.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), depending on the colour option.
