The Honda SP 125 is one of the more popular motorcycles in its class, offering a blend of refinement, fuel efficiency and Honda’s trademark build quality. The bike is available in just two variants that differ primarily in braking hardware and instrumentation. Here’s a look at what each variant has to offer and how much they cost.

Honda SP 125 variant breakdown

STD

The base variant of the SP 125 comes with drum brakes at both ends and a combined braking system (CBS). It gets a digital instrument cluster that offers a decent amount of information, including real-time fuel economy, average fuel economy, a service due indicator, a gear position indicator, and an eco indicator. Standard features include an LED headlight, a side-stand indicator with engine cut-off and a 5-step adjustable rear suspension.

The 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine makes 10.9hp and 10.9Nm of torque. At 116kg, this STD variant is the lighter of the two. The bike is priced at Rs 87,878, and both variants are available in five colours: Pearl Siren Blue, Imperial Red Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.

DLX

Moving up from the base variant, the DLX variant swaps the front drum for a 240mm disc brake while retaining the 130mm rear drum and CBS. Another key differentiator here is the TFT display, which replaces the fully digital console on the STD variant. This TFT screen offers connectivity features through Honda RoadSync, providing call and message alerts, as well as navigation assist. The DLX also gets a 15W USB Type-C charging port.

The SP 125 DLX is mechanically identical to the STD variant but weighs 1kg more at 117kg, likely thanks to the added disc. At Rs 95,465, this variant costs approximately Rs 7,600 more than the STD but brings in better braking performance along with more modern instrumentation. It’s available in the same five colour options as the STD variant.
