Here are answers to some questions you might have about the new Bajaj Dominar 400 with its downsized 349cc engine.

Bajaj has launched the Dominar 400 with a downsized 349cc engine that allows it to sit in the lower 18 percent GST bracket as opposed to the earlier 40 percent. The new engine has resulted in a significant price reduction, making the Dominar 400 more accessible than before. Here are answers to some of the questions you might have about this updated model.

What is the price of the Bajaj Dominar 400?

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 2.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), marking a price reduction of Rs 37,000 compared to the outgoing model that was priced at Rs 2.40 lakh. At its current price, the Dominar 400 is Rs 26,000 dearer than the Dominar 250. The price reduction has been achieved by downsizing the engine from 373cc to 349cc, which allows the motorcycle to fall under the lower 18 percent GST bracket instead of the 40 percent that engines above 350cc attract.

What engine does the Bajaj Dominar 400 use and how much power does it make?

The Dominar 400 is powered by a downsized 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 40.6hp at 9,000rpm and 33.2Nm at 7,500rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. This marks a drop of 1.8Nm in peak torque and a bump of 0.6hp in peak power compared to the outgoing model. Peak power is produced 200rpm higher, and peak torque is delivered 1,000rpm later in the rev range.
