•14wI am planning to buy a diesel car. However, I read that diesel cars will be banned soon in India, especially in metro cities. Is it true, and what will happen to diesel cars after five years?

Autocar India
It is unlikely that diesel cars will be banned anytime soon or even in the future, as there is a realisation amongst the authorities that modern diesel cars are, in fact, as clean as petrol cars. In fact, future emission standards do not differentiate between petrol and diesel.
There are various false reports on diesel being banned, which creates unnecessary panic among diesel car buyers. We would advise you to go right ahead and buy the diesel car you were planning to get.
