The Kia Carens Clavis makes for a good pick for you. It's a very practical MPV with 7 usable seats. The turbo-petrol engine will fulfil your requirement of performance, though enthusiastic driving can take a toll on fuel economy.

At the moment, the Honda City is the only mid-size sedan in the market with a hybrid powertrain, however it should cost you close to Rs 25 lakh on-road.Since you're looking for a value-for-money offering within Rs 18 lakh, the Hyundai Verna HX6+ 1.5 Petrol CVT is the one to go for. The car is feature-rich, comfortable, and very smooth to drive.

Autocar India, what could be the expected price of the new 9th-generation Hilux in India for the STD and High AT variants? Does Toyota plan to bring the STD AT variant to India? Will the STD variant still be speed-limited to 80 kmph? Please share your opinions or insider news on this.

Toyota has not announced India launch plans for the new Hilux. It's a small-volume product in India and will likely follow the arrival of the closely related new-gen Fortuner that's due in 2027.The 80kph cap is tied to goods-vehicle registration rules, not the badge. If you buy and register it as a private vehicle, it should not be speed-limited. Ask the dealer for written confirmation that no speed governor is fitted or active on your vehicle.

Being a Fiat Punto Evo owner, you're likely to lean towards the Citroen Aircross for its outstanding ride-handling balance, overall comfort, and its strong turbo-petrol powertrain. Fundamentally, it is excellent, and with the new interiors and feature set, it does make you feel like you've spent your money well. The only downside and perhaps the biggest deal-breaker for many is that its sales and support network is limited, compared to other brands. But if you have a Citroen touchpoint close to you, this is a car you must surely consider.In comparison, the Honda Elevate will be a more conventional option. What's nice is that its ride quality and long-distance comfort are quite good too, and its 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers strong performance.

From a pure product perspective, Audi’s cars like the A4, Q3 and the Q7 remain genuinely strong. Cabin quality is excellent, refinement is top-notch, quattro-equipped models are hugely capable, and the overall ownership experience can be perfectly satisfying. Where Mercedes and BMW currently have the edge is brand momentum, product freshness and showroom pull. Mercedes has the broadest luxury portfolio, while BMW arguably has the more engaging cars to drive in several segments. Audi, by comparison, has felt quieter in recent years, with fewer headline launches and slightly less buzz.Audi India remains committed, and service support for existing owners is not a concern in the way people sometimes fear.

I am planning to buy the Honda City facelift that was launched yesterday. How does it compare with the Volkswagen Virtus? I am also assuming that the government will continue supporting E20 fuel even if E85 is introduced in the future. So, is it still safe to buy a petrol vehicle in Delhi/NCR?

The new City facelift does make a stronger case now because Honda has added genuinely useful features like a larger infotainment screen and ventilated front seats, while pricing has remained fairly sensible. But fundamentally, the character of the car has not changed.Against the VW Virtus, the choice still comes down to personality. The Virtus is the more fun to drive option, especially with the turbo petrol engines, because it feels stronger, more eager and more engaging from behind the wheel. The City, on the other hand, is the more balanced sedan. The 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol is smooth, refined and easy to live with, but if outright performance is your priority, it will not feel as quick as the turbo Virtus. The City hybrid changes that equation because it is genuinely quick and can match the 1.5 TSI for straight line pace, but it is still not what you would call an enthusiast’s car.On the fuel front, yes, it is safe to buy a petrol car in Delhi NCR. Current mainstream petrol cars are already E20 compatible, and even if India eventually pushes toward higher ethanol blends, that transition will be gradual rather than an overnight switch. Beyond a certain point, if the country were to move meaningfully toward very high blends like E85, manufacturers would need proper flex fuel engines engineered for that fuel, and the government would also need to continue offering lower blend fuel options during any transition.
