While the VinFast VF7 is an impressive product on paper, BYD cars have a significant head start in India. The BYD Atto 3 has been on sale for longer, BYD has an established dealer and service network, and there are already a meaningful number of cars on the road. That naturally translates into better parts availability of the BYD car, more trained technicians and a clearer picture of long-term ownership costs.

With VinFast cars, the biggest unknown isn't the product itself but the ecosystem around it. The company is still in the early stages of building its sales and service network in India, and it will take time before we can confidently assess parts availability, service quality and long-term support.

The Atto 3 also benefits from BYD's extensive global EV experience and its proven Blade Battery technology, which has already built a strong reputation for durability and safety.

@abhranil You should choose the BYD Atto 3. BYD already has an established presence in India, a growing service network, and a proven track record with the Atto 3. The VF7 looks promising on paper, but VinFast is still at a very early stage in India, so long-term support, service reach, and parts availability remain question marks. If peace of mind is a priority, the Atto 3 is the safer bet right now.

There are two school of thoughts to choose between Creta and Seltos For Seltos the argument is like, it's built on the new platform and is safer snd has a better interior but despite that the Creta is a kore tried and tested model. No influencers advocates for Creta in social media perhaps because they won't get commission on a car that sells by itself. We currently have a 2012 Toyota Etios Liva diesel manual, but we are planning to buy a new car because Delhi's 15-year diesel rule does not allow us to continue using it. We want to switch to a petrol automatic. There are three people in our family. Our usual running includes a 5- 7 km trip to the temple every Monday, along with another 500-600 km of monthly running. Our old car covered around 1,10,000km over the last 14 years. We have Rs 9 lakh in cash and are willing to take a loan. Earlier, we were considering the Kia Seltos HTK(O) petrol DCT, which costs around Rs 18.5 lakh. However, we are now considering the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha O AMT, which costs around Rs 11.5 lakh. The features I specifically want are an auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs and ventilated seats. Everything else is an added bonus, and I do not necessarily require it. The Seltos feels more premium and has a larger engine, but the Baleno makes more practical sense for our usage. What do you think?

Overall, this Maruti car is the more practical, sensible and cost-effective choice for your usage.

The Elevate also benefits from Honda’s strong reputation for long-term reliability and low maintenance costs, which is exactly what you want from a naturally aspirated petrol automatic. The Hyryder is still a good car, but the Elevate is the more complete package for this brief.

I am new to driving and am looking for a sub-4-metre petrol SUV with a torque converter automatic gearbox. My budget is around Rs 12-13 lakh on-road. I have shortlisted two options: the Skoda Kylaq Signature automatic and the Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro automatic. We are a family of five. My current usage is mostly within the city, but based on my future work requirements, it could shift to an 80:20 mix of city and highway driving.

Go for the Skoda Kylaq Signature AT. For a new driver with predominantly city use, its 1.0 TSI with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic is smooth and easy to drive, while the compact dimensions make it relatively easy to manage in traffic. It also has a more mature, planted feel on the highway.The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro AT is the better choice if rear-seat space is the priority. Its cabin is wider and more accommodating for a family of five, and its 1.2 turbo-petrol makes 200Nm, giving it stronger low-end and mid-range performance than the Kylaq.However, the 3XO's boot is also one of its compromises, while the Kylaq offers a better balance of driving dynamics, boot space and highway manners. With your usage potentially becoming 80:20 city/highway, the Kylaq's combination works particularly well.

Which car should I buy among Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol base or Kia Seltos petrol base? And also tell me if anyone has faced power issue or pickup issue while overtaking as I want the car for long term.

Between the two, the Seltos is the better choice, especially if you are looking at the base variant. It feels more premium, is the newer product and offers a more complete package even in its lower variants.The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol makes 115hp and 144Nm. It isn't a particularly powerful engine, but it is smooth and refined and is perfectly adequate for normal city driving.For overtaking, it won't have the punch of the Seltos turbo, but it isn't underpowered either. With a full load and during quick highway overtakes, you may need to plan ahead and use higher revs. The Grand Vitara's 1.5 petrol is also a smooth, simple powertrain, but its performance is more relaxed and the base variant is quite sparsely equipped.
