The new Skoda Octavia RS is expected to launch in India later this year, likely before the festive season. It feels very similar to the Volkswagen Golf GTI, as both cars are built on the same platform and share mechanical components, including the 265hp 2.0 TSI engine and 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The Skoda Octavia RS holds an edge in practicality, offering a more spacious rear seat and a 600-litre boot that's much larger than the Golf's 380 litres. However, it is also 66kg heavier than the VW, which could have a minor impact on performance.
