I own a 2012 Swift diesel and have done 2.2 lakh km. I now want a bigger car and prefer a hybrid powertrain. I typically drive about 2,000 km per month. I was hoping the new Seltos would offer a hybrid, but it did not. Are there any upcoming hybrid launches I should wait for, or should I consider the Toyota Hyryder instead? I do not want another Maruti-branded model like the Grand Vitara or Victoris. My budget is 20-25 lakh. Please advise.

Since a hybrid SUV is your priority, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder would be your best option.

The Kia Seltos hybrid would be joining the lineup, but it is unclear as to when that would happen. The upcoming Renault Duster is also likely to feature a hybrid option, but there will be more clarity on that in the second half of 2026.

If you cannot wait for another year, the Toyota car is a good option to go with.

The only area where the Compass has an advantage is while off-roading where the suspension performs well and the dimensions help traverse tough terrain. Apart from that one plus point, you will not find the Compass as an upgrade to the XUV 700.

My must-haves are an automatic torque-converter or CVT transmission and ventilated seats. Which car should I choose? Also, should I wait for the Brezza facelift in case it offers ventilated seats? Considering your requirements, the Hyundai Venue in HX10 guise will be a good option. It gets a turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and has a lengthy feature list, including ventilated front seats. However, if you can stretch your budget a bit, you can also get the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta variant that gets you ventilated front seats and a much bigger car than the Venue. It has a smooth torque converter automatic gearbox, a comfy ride and peace of mind that comes with the Maruti badge. The Brezza facelift does not have a known launch time at the moment. Also worth noting is that the Grand Vitara is being offered with discounts, and you can strike a good deal now.

Between the two, the TVS will be the more comfortable and practical choice.The Hero Xoom 125 does have a comfortable suspension, but its seating comfort is rather average. In comparison, the TVS Jupiter 125 offers a spacious, almost-flat seat and a well-judged suspension setup. Both these factors make it a better option, and that’s why we would steer you toward the Jupiter.You could also consider the Suzuki Access125, a scooter which we found to be quite comfortable during our time with it.
