Dear Autocar Team, I drive around 45,000 km annually across highways and city roads. I previously owned a pre-owned Toyota Glanza Petrol (October 2020 to April 2024), which covered 90,000 km, and I currently drive a Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG (April 2024-present), which has now clocked 96,000 km. While the running costs are low, driving a manual car daily has become physically tiring. Additionally, frequent CNG queues and the limited boot space are major inconveniences. Around 85% of my driving is on highways. My questions are: Is 1.5 lakh km the right financial milestone to sell my Brezza CNG before major maintenance or overhaul costs start increasing? I am looking for an automatic strong hybrid car that can comfortably run up to 1.5 lakh km with low maintenance, fatigue-free driving, and a dedicated spare wheel (stepney). Between the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid, Hyryder CNG, and Honda City e:HEV, which would be the better choice for my requirements? Looking forward to your guidance.

With a daily running of 120km, fuel efficiency and long-term reliability become the most important factors. A Honda City hybrid is worth considering, which should easily fall within your budget. Seat comfort is excellent and its hybrid system is particularly effective in city driving, where it can run on electric power at low speeds, and on the highway it remains efficient and refined. Honda's reliability and low maintenance costs make it an excellent long-term ownership proposition, especially given your high annual mileage.If you specifically want an SUV, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid is the next best option. It shares its hybrid system with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and offers similar fuel efficiency benefits. The Victoris also gets brighter interior, it is comfortable, and it will keep running costs low over the long term.

Given your usage pattern of 60% highway driving, challenging road conditions and high annual running, the Mahindra XUV 3XO diesel would be our first recommendation. The 3XO diesel is well-suited to rough roads thanks to its robust suspension setup, good ground clearance and strong low-end torque, which makes it easy to tackle broken surfaces and steep inclines. There is no technical evidence to suggest that Jio-BP petrol is harmful to your Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Strong Hybrid. All major fuel brands in India, including Jio-BP, must meet the same BIS and BS6 fuel quality standards, and Toyota engineers its engines to run reliably on fuel from any compliant pump. The Hyryder’s hybrid system is not unusually sensitive to fuel quality. It is designed for Indian conditions and fuel variability.The only caveat is to avoid pumps with visibly poor maintenance or questionable fuel storage practices, regardless of brand. If you are concerned, stick to busy, well-maintained pumps where fuel turnover is high. Otherwise, there is no reason to avoid Jio BP petrol specifically. The car will run just as reliably on it as on fuel from any other major brand.
