I have the Tata Punch AMT right now. I need another second car. With a low budget, maybe under 4-5 lac. Should I go for the AMT or the manual version? And which is the better option: S-Presso or Alto?

Asked by: Rahul Singh

For Rs 5 lakh, you will only get the entry-level manual variants of the Alto and S-Presso. Between the two, the S-Presso is the better pick due to its tallboy design, making it easier to get in and out of, and as a result, its cabin also feels a touch roomier than the Alto's.

I want to buy a good motorcycle under ₹2.5 lakh. Should I go for the Triumph Speed T4, or should I consider other options?

The Triumph Speed T4 is a great bike in its class and one you should certainly consider. In a few months, Bajaj will be downsizing all the 400cc Triumphs to 350cc in order to benefit from the new GST 2.0 structure, and it remains to be seen how the T4 fits into this new lineup.Similar bikes to the Speed T4 are the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Honda CB350 models, although their simpler, air-cooled engines offer significantly lower performance but have a deeper, thumpier exhaust note and more laidback character. This could be a good thing depending on the sort of experience you're after, so take a test ride of these bikes before you decide.

Hey everyone, I am looking to buy a new bike to commute and for occasional rides. My commute is almost 60 km every day. I am confused whether I should get a 100-125cc commuter or go for the XSR, which really caught my eye. I am on a strict budget, so I would like to know your thoughts.

The Yamaha XSR155 is a great motorcycle with its pleasing neo-retro looks and proven performance-oriented engine and underpinnings. It is a great bike to commute on in almost all respects but one - its stiff rear suspension. Since the XSR155 uses an R15-derived chassis, its suspension comfort over bad roads isn't great. If your long commute involves a lot of bad roads or broken surfaces, we would recommend you look elsewhere. In the 125cc commuter category, there are plenty of great options like the Hero Xtreme 125R, Glamour / Super Splendor, Honda Shine, and TVS Raider. A test ride will help you decide which bike is best suited for your needs.
