I travel around 1,800 km per month, with about 70% highway and 30% city usage. Please advise which fuel option to choose. My priority is mileage.

Considering your requirements, a diesel car makes a lot of sense. With your running exceeding 20,000 km annually, the higher fuel efficiency of a diesel engine will help you save a significant amount of money. And since most of your usage is on highways, you won’t face DPF issues that BS6 diesel engines often experience when driven primarily at low speeds in the city.
You could also consider a petrol-hybrid if one fits within your budget. Cars like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, or Honda City Hybrid can deliver over 20kmpl, whether you’re driving in the city or on the highway, making them highly efficient and practical options.
