Own a Fortuner for Highway usage and a Windsor Pro for city daily use. Looking for a weekend car and considering either the M2 G87 or the M340i. Budget is up to 1.4cr max. Open to any other better suggestion. The use case will be in Bangalore and the surrounding areas.

Pick the BMW M2 Coupe. As a pure weekend toy around Bengaluru, it feels special every single drive - compact size for tight roads, rear-drive agility for the Nandi Hills twisties, and an engine-gearbox combo that rewards good drivers. You already have the Fortuner and the Windsor for space and chores, so the M2’s two-door body style should not be a problem. That said, the ride is firm, and the ground clearance is low, so tall speed breakers and steep ramps need care, and the rear seats are for short hops only.

The 3 Series M340i is the easier car to live with and quicker in low-grip situations thanks to its all-wheel traction, and it rides a bit more comfortably over broken patches. But as a third car used mainly for fun, why not go all out? The M2 is the pick among these two. If you want a bit more flair, there's also the M440i convertible, which gives up very little in terms of dynamics and performance, but gives you the added dimension of open-top motoring.

I want to buy a car in the Rs. 60 lakh to Rs. 70 lakh range. An SUV seems like the more practical choice, but there aren't many exciting options from BMW or Mercedes-Benz in this budget. Sedans like the BMW 3 Series are available, but I am concerned about their low ground clearance, especially since the roads in my area are not in great condition and waterlogging is a common issue. Toyota appeals because of its reliability, but I don't find the interiors very appealing. As for Skoda and Volkswagen, I am not very confident about their after-sales service. Would the BMW 3 Series still be comfortable and practical to own on bad roads and during waterlogged conditions? Above all, I want complete peace of mind after the purchase.

As it will be assembled in India, pricing is expected to remain competitive and within your budget.The Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback are also worth considering. They offer a refined petrol engine, smooth performance, and a high-quality cabin. Their only drawback is that they are not the most modern in terms of features. With the new-generation Q3 expected to arrive soon, attractive discounts on the current models are also likely.

With 5,000-7,000 km a year and mostly city driving, you are the ideal EV buyer. The Mahindra XEV 9S in its top-spec Pack Three guise will comfortably fit in your budget. With a 79kWh battery pack, you can easily expect a real-world range of around 480km in daily driving conditions. The 9S is also a full-size SUV with three rows, so practicality is excellent. There is a usable frunk as well, and the feature list is extensive with connected tech, panoramic sunroof, front and rear ventilated seats, drive modes, Level 2 ADAS and much more. Also, with 286hp, the 9S has plenty of performance for everyday needs. The overall package strikes a good balance and hence is our recommendation.

I am planning to buy the Tata Harrier Adventure X Plus Dark Petrol Manual, and I booked it two months ago. However, I am not sure whether I will receive the car within the promised timeline. With a running of just 6,000 km a year, a petrol engine is the right choice, and the Harrier petrol is a good fit if you like the size and space. The bigger question is the waiting period. Tata’s official waiting periods can vary by city and dealer, but for the Harrier petrol, it is not unusual to see waits of 2-3 months depending on demand and allocation. If your dealer is already saying it may not arrive on time, it is worth checking with other Tata dealers in your city to see if they have a shorter queue or a cancelled booking in the same variant.If you are happy with the Harrier’s space and comfort, it is worth waiting a few more weeks rather than switching to a different car. The only reason to change would be if you need the car urgently. In that case, the Mahindra XUV 7XO petrol is the closest alternative.
