How is the idea of buying the VinFast VF7 top model AWD? I currently drive a Jeep Compass.

The VinFast VF7 is an able cruiser that's engaging to drive. The AWD version packs in plenty of performance, and you feel confident behind the wheel, with characteristics similar to the Jeep Compass. What also works in the VF7's favour is its upmarket interior that genuinely exudes a premium car vibe.
To entice buyers, VinFast is also offering several attractive schemes, such as buyback offers, incentives to exchange your ICE car, free charging options, long warranty, etc.
Do keep in mind, its high cabin floor could hamper comfort, the user interface isn't very easy due to the over-reliance on its touchscreen for all controls, and its (overall) range is around 391km, which is lower than the Mahindra XEV 9E's (456km).

After sales support for vinfast is a real issue. They are milking the cheap car concept. Too many software glitches, basic accessories like partial shelf floor mats mud flaps are not available. And the connected car tech esim is limited to 1gb per month so if you run out then the app just stops working.

Excellent car. Bought mine in Nov 2025. Till date no issues at all. Love the interiors and the raw power.

Hi sir, how does the ride quality of the Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Three change depending on the drive mode? Is there a drive mode or custom suspension setting in which it feels the best without that slight floaty feeling at the rear?

The XEV 9E Pack 3 uses semi-adaptive dampers, so the suspension response does change with drive mode. In 'Everyday' or 'Range' mode, the car is tuned for a softer, more relaxed ride, which is where you will notice that slight floaty sensation at the rear over undulating roads. Switching to 'Race' mode firms up the dampers and reduces that float, giving the car a more tied-down feel, especially at the rear. With a recent update, there is an individual suspension setting too in this electric car, which allows you to configure a Custom drive mode. In Custom, you can select the firmer suspension setting while keeping the steering and powertrain in their more relaxed settings. This is the best way to get rid of the floaty feel without making the entire car feel overly aggressive.Overall, this Mahindra car is comfortable, but if you are sensitive to that floaty sensation, use the Custom mode with the firmer suspension setting.

I currently own a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZXi and have been using it for the last 12 years. I am now planning to buy a new car and have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Petrol. My usage is around 70% on the highway. I still prefer a petrol car. Could you please suggest which would be the better option? Should I buy a new car or continue using my current one?

So choosing between these two Maruti Suzuki cars is really a matter of preference, and of which showroom is closer to you. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is smooth, reliable and well suited to long highway runs, while the car itself offers a comfortable ride, good stability and a proven ownership experience. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has a few feature advantages like a slightly larger touchscreen and a fully digital driver's display, as well as ADAS, so if those make a difference to you, go for the Victoris. As for whether to upgrade or keep the Ertiga, after 12 years it is a good time to move on. Even if the car is still running well, newer cars offer significantly better safety, comfort and refinement, and the Victoris will feel like a meaningful step up.
