For a city commuter with occasional highway drives, which one should I choose between the Celerio and Wagon R?

Both the Celerio and the Wagon R come with the typical Maruti benefits of being fuel-efficient and cost-effective when it comes to service.
Between these two Maruti Suzuki cars, we would lean towards the Celerio. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has better headroom, but overall passenger space in the Celerio is more than enough, and the boot volume is also very good.
For your highway trips, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be a tad better with a more surefooted and composed feel at speed.

We'd recommend a small petrol hatchback. With an average running of just 200-300km per month, an electric car is unlikely to make financial sense as you'll find it difficult to recover the higher upfront cost through lower running costs.As for a solar EV, there are currently no solar EVs on sale in India. While a few manufacturers have showcased concepts and prototypes, there isn't a practical, mass-market solar electric car that you can buy today.For your usage, a car like the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Wagon R or Hyundai Grand i10 Nios would be a better fit. They are reliable, inexpensive to maintain and well suited to low annual running. If you're keen on an EV for its quiet and effortless driving experience, the MG Comet EV is worth considering, but from a purely value-for-money perspective, a petrol hatchback is the more sensible choice.

With just 100km a month, an electric car is unlikely to make financial sense for you. The fuel savings are too small to offset the higher purchase price, and you will not be using the car enough to justify the investment in a battery-powered vehicle. At this usage level, a simple, reliable petrol car is the better choice. Something like a Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 or a Celerio will be far more affordable to buy, cheap to maintain and perfectly suited to your low running. But if you are set on an EV, the Tata Tiago EV is your best option, but be aware that at your usage, the cost savings will be negligible. The smarter decision is to go petrol and keep your ownership costs low.
