    I own a 2012 Honda Activa that is well-maintained and still provides a hassle-free, easy ride with great utility. However, since it’s ageing and needs frequent maintenance, I’m considering upgrading. I have found Honda reliable so far, which scooter should I consider next?

    Since you have had such a nice experience with your Honda Activa, you can look at the latest Activa 110cc and Activa 125cc variants of the scooter, which will carry forward the same sort of experience your current scooter delivers, with added features. 

    If you want to look elsewhere, the TVS Jupiter models and the Suzuki Access are our current favourites in the scooter class. If you would like something that's flashier in terms of looks and has slightly more performance without sacrificing practicality and comfort, the TVS Ntorq is a good option.

My budget is around ₹20 lakh. I have shortlisted the VW Virtus GT 1.5 and the Skoda Kushaq. Are there any other manual cars I should consider? Since you want to upgrade from your Tata Nexon to a fun-to-drive manual car, you should consider the Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 TSI MT. The Taigun is one of the best handling midsize SUVs, and its 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol is one of the punchiest around. You could also consider the Skoda Kushaq or the Skoda Slavia/Volkswagen Virtus, but none of those get a manual gearbox option with the 1.5 TSI engine - only a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

I need a pillion-friendly motorcycle suitable for family use. My daily commute is about 20 km. Please suggest options. Since you have had a good experience with a Honda machine, you could stick with the brand and go with the Honda CB300F. The CB300F is light, comfortable, spacious and will return decent fuel economy. If you want to switch brands, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250 make for good upgrade options with their smooth engines and comfortable ergonomics. If you don't mind staying in the same displacement range while getting a significant performance bump, the KTM 160 Duke and Yamaha MT-15 warrant consideration. With their liquid-cooled engines and light weights, these two will give you the performance step up you want without sacrificing on mileage.

I prefer a 5-seater with good handling, preferably a compact SUV or SUV, within a budget of ₹17-20 lakh. I have shortlisted the Nexon, Sonet, Venue, Grand Vitara, Victoris, Seltos and, after its launch, the Sierra. I’m considering the higher or second-highest variants, and my preference is automatic. Please suggest. You will need to stretch your Rs 20 lakh budget slightly because the entry-level Tata Sierra (Adventure+ variant) turbo-petrol automatic is priced at Rs 17.99 lakh ex-showroom. It is the newest, largest and most desirable option from the list, and if you've got your heart set on it, go for it. You could also consider the Hyundai New Venue N Line, a relatively compact option that feels sporty and is quite nice to drive.

Since first-batch cars may have initial issues, I’m unsure whether to buy the Sierra now or choose the Creta. If waiting is better, should I buy a small car for 1- 2 years? For my usage (25 km city daily and 800 km highway trips every three months), which is better - the Tata Punch or the Hyundai Exter? The Hyundai Creta is a car you can't go wrong with, and if you're looking for a fill-it-and-forget-it type of car, it is the one to go for. The ownership experience with a Tata vehicle, on the other hand, can be a hit or a miss, and many users often complain that their new launches are riddled with niggles. However, the Tata Sierra is a very desirable offering, and since it is built at Tata's Sanand plant (known for its high quality standards), chances are that it is likely to be niggle-free from the start. So if your heart is set on the Sierra, go for it.
