I’m a first-time car buyer and have booked the Hyundai i20 MT Petrol Sportz for ₹8.3 lakh. The delivery is in two weeks. My usage will be mostly city driving with one or two highway trips a year (around 1,500 km each). I’m now confused between the new Venue base model and the Kia Sonet base model. Should I cancel my Hyundai i20 booking and go for one of those instead, or should I stick with my current choice?

The Hyundai i20 MT Sportz is a good choice and one you can stick with. Your dilemma essentially comes down to a hatchback versus compact SUV decision.
The base Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet use the same powertrain as the i20, so performance will be similar. However, the SUVs’ higher seating and elevated driving position improve confidence on highways.
Between the two SUVs, the Hyundai Venue is newer, offers more cabin space, and will likely hold better resale value.
