I drive 2,000 km per month, with about 80% on highways (primarily the Hyderabad ORR). I’m choosing between two EVs: the Windsor EV Pro at ₹20 lakh on-road and the BYD Atto 3 Dynamic at ₹27 lakh on-road. Is the ₹7 lakh premium for the BYD Atto 3 worth the investment for my usage? Please advise.

The Windsor offers great value for money, and its cabin is spacious and well-appointed, but it’s fundamentally a city-focused EV. For your usage, especially with 80% of your running on highways and the fast, open conditions of Hyderabad’s ORR, the BYD Atto 3 is the more suitable choice.

The MG Windsor’s ride is on the firmer, brittle side, and it lets in a fair bit of road noise, which becomes tiring at higher speeds.

In contrast, the Atto 3 is noticeably better insulated, feels more planted at speed, and generally drives like a segment-above product. It’s also more refined overall and offers significantly more range- an important factor given your monthly 2,000km usage.
So yes, for your specific requirement, the extra Rs 7 lakh for the Atto 3 is justified.

If you have the budget for it, opt for the MG Windsor Pro for its larger battery and its 377 km real-world range. Also, its bright seat upholstery looks more upmarket, and it also gets ADAS.The VF6's interiors feel even more premium, performance is stronger, and it is a nicer car to drive. Space, however, won't be as generous, and even though we haven't tested it yet, despite having a larger battery, it weighs a lot more. Hence, efficiency isn't likely to be too different from the Windsor Pro.In summary, if you are usually self-driven, opt for the VinFast VF6. Otherwise, for mixed usage or if you travel regularly with family, then the Windsor Pro is the better, more spacious option.

Without knowing more about your usage and requirements, it is hard to give you the ideal pick. Broadly speaking, the Hyundai Creta petrol is the more rounded package. It's a proven product with a user-friendly and spacious interior and a pleasant driving experience. If you are open to the Creta petrol, it's worth your while to check the new Kia Seltos, which is newer, roomier and more feature-packed.The MG Windsor Pro entices with keen pricing, an airy cabin and a sofa-like rear seat. However, there is a learning curve to the Windsor experience because many of the key controls are via the touchscreen. Also, while your usage doesn't suggest you'll have an issue, EVs work best if you have the option to install a charger at home.

I am planning to sell my Mahindra XUV500 as it is nearing the end of its registration validity in Delhi NCR, and I want to buy a 5-seater SUV under ₹10 lakh. My preference is for a fuel-efficient car as my daily running is around 100 km, but it should also be spacious enough for five people. Since fuel efficiency is a priority, I am open to both CNG and diesel cars. My usage will be 70% city and 30% highway, mostly within Delhi NCR. I have narrowed my choices to the Maruti Brezza CNG, Tata Nexon CNG, Kia Sonet Diesel, and Maruti Fronx CNG. Please help me evaluate which would be the better option. I am also open to any other better option if available.

The Maruti Brezza CNG and Fronx CNG will be more fuel efficient than the Nexon iCNG, and their clutch and gearbox make them friendlier to drive, too. The Brezza is due for a facelift in the coming weeks, so you might want to wait for that to arrive. The Kia Sonet diesel will feel punchier to drive (than the CNG options listed above), while being very efficient too. Also, by opting for a diesel, you won't need to wait in long queues to refill CNG. Even the Sonet is due for a generation update, which is likely to be launched this year. Another option you could consider is the Mahindra XUV 3XO diesel MX2, which is more spacious than a Sonet. Its ride-handling balance is very impressive; the Sonet, however, has an edge in terms of fuel efficiency.
