    I want to upgrade my car. My budget is 60 to 80 lakhs. What will be your advice. Land Rover Discovery sports diesel or BMW X1 or BMW X3 or shall I wait for Audi q5 to come. Or can I look for meridian

    Without knowing your exact requirements, it’s hard to suggest one outright. Among the options you’ve listed, the BMW X3 is the newest and offers the most features, though it’s also the most expensive. The Land Rover Discovery Sport has the advantage of a third row of seats, though it’s best suited for children. The BMW X1 will be the easiest to drive in the city. The next-gen Audi Q5 is still some time away, with its launch expected around 2026. The Jeep Meridian, meanwhile, won’t feel as premium or as refined as the other options you’ve mentioned.

I’m choosing between the Mahindra XUV700 AXL and the Toyota Innova HyCross GX(O). I prefer to keep my vehicles for many years. Which would you recommend? Both the Mahindra XUV700 AX7L and the Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O) are good SUVs, but quite different in character. The AXL variant of XUV700 is feature-rich and a performance-oriented SUV with strong petrol and diesel engines. The Innova Hycross GX(O) is the top-of-the-line non-hybrid or petrol-only variant, which is a practical and reliable option but lacks the tech and the wow-factor of the XUV700. Both SUVs are spacious, but the Hycross is also more comfortable than the XUV700 with a smoother ride and more room in all three rows. However, we feel for your annual running of only 10k a year, which is mainly on the highway, the diesel XUV AXL will be the best option as it offers strong performance, effortless cruising and despite being a diesel is quite refined. Plus, the AXL comes with ADAS features, which can be a lifesaver in high-speed situations on the highway.You should wait for the Mahindra XUV 7X0, which is the updated XUV700 with extra features like a third screen front passenger, to be launched in early January 2026, before making your decision.

    Asked by: Sahil S Hello Autocar India. A few years ago, I owned a KTM Duke 390 (2014) but sold it due to heat, engine knocking and other issues. I now ride a TVS Apache RTR 200 4V (2024), but I miss the Duke 390’s quick overtakes and higher power. I commute by bike three times a week on a mixed city-and-highway route of about 40 km one way (Thane-Mumbai). I am considering upgrading to either the Duke 250 or the Triumph Speed 400, and I am also evaluating the TVS RTX 300. Which of these would be the better choice? Of the three bikes you're considering, the KTM 250 Duke will be the most engaging handler, but it has the least peak output and the smallest engine. This means you will have to rev it more to access the meat of the performance.The Triumph Speed 400 is the most powerful bike of your shortlisted options. It will be a great city bike because of its effortless performance and plush suspension.The TVS Apache RTX 300 is sure to be the most comfortable machine of the three. Its long-travel suspension and commanding ergonomics help, but it is also the tallest and heaviest bike on your list.Take a test ride of all three to see which one fits your needs the best.

    Asked by: Mohan Sharma I’m planning to buy my first car and am confused between an EV and a petrol automatic SUV. My budget is up to ₹25 lakh, and my expected running is around 1,000-1,200 km per month with mixed highway and city use. I prefer EVs for their low running cost and smooth drive, but I’m unsure about charging availability on long routes and the effect of climbs on range. Petrol SUVs seem more convenient for long trips, but the fuel cost is higher. To be honest, the charging infrastructure on highways is not developed and finding a reliable and fast charging point on the highway can be a challenge.In view of this, our advice is that if you have to break your journey on the highway. Also, the inconvenience of having to wait and the stress of not knowing if the charger is working or not, it’s better to opt for a tried-and-tested ICE vehicle. Yes, petrol SUVs guzzle more fuel, but at least they give you less stress and peace of mind. The Mahindra XUV 7X0 that will be launched next month is a good option.

For 40 km daily commute with 15 km city and rest highway, I'm looking to buy my first bike which would make this experience better. My budget is upto 2.5L.
